Call For Submissions

Submitting to GRFF

The 2014 Call for Submissions is now closed.  Finalists will be announced early September.

SHORT Shorts

The SHORT Shorts Competition is a celebration of short films in two categories (Waterloo Region and Cross-Canada). It provides aspiring filmmakers support and exposure of their 15 minute or less film through the hosting of a networking/shorts award event with judging by film professionals, the screening of their film in a festival setting, and the opportunity to win significant cash and product prizes.

GRFF accepts submissions through Withoutabox which provides cost-saving, paperless submission to film festivals world-wide. By submitting, you’ll join Withoutabox’s global filmmaker community and stay in the loop about international exhibition opportunities.

GRFF strongly encourages filmmakers to take advantage of the Secure Online Screener option via Withoutabox as it is a greener and simpler alternative to sending entries by mail.

If you do choose to submit DVD’s, we require 2 screener DVDs for submission. The DVDs sent must be Region 0 NTSC packed in a bubble lined envelope, with the DVD disc clearly labeled with: FILM TITLE, CATEGORY, RUNTIME, CONTACT’S NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER and YOUR WITHOUTABOX TRACKING NUMBER. Please double check your DVD disc’s playability before sending. Screener DVDs will not be returned.

GRFF will exhibit accepted works in Blu-Ray, DVD (Region 0) or a then-current digital format as agreed upon by the filmmaker and GRFF.

GRFF will notify filmmakers who submit through Withoutabox by e-mail in September 2014. The decision of the judges will be final.

Every precaution will be taken to safeguard all materials submitted to GRFF. However, we cannot accept or assume responsibility in the event of loss or damage.
